Sharon Ann Sasse, 80, of Evansville, passed away Friday, February 14, 2025 at Linda E. White Hospice. She was born January 23, 1945 in Evansville to the late Frederick Robuck and Ruth (Crowell) Robuck.
Sharon graduated from Memorial High School. She received her Nursing Home Administrative License from Lockyear College and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from University of Evansville. Sharon worked in ICU at Deaconess Hospital and in hospitals in Florida and Atlanta. She also worked as a home healthcare provider. Sharon attended St. Benedict Cathedral. She was an accomplished seamstress, operating a successful business out of her home. Sharon also ran a daycare in her home when her children were young. She was an avid gardener and a gourmet cook. Sharon was a devoted advocate for the disabled and those suffering from mental illness.
She is survived by her daughters, Ann Heckel of Louisville, KY, Amy Hesse of Saddle River, NJ, and Rachel (Andrew) Wire of Ocala, FL; sons, Father John Sasse of Evansville and Daniel Sasse of Hollywood, FL; grandchildren, Lauren Heckel, Lainie Heckel, Brittany (Mel) Belmonte, Nathan Wire, Hensley Wire, Josie Wire and John Hesse; great granddaughter, Savannah Belmonte; and niece, Jennifer Robuck Grzyb.
In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her husband in 1993, John "Joe" Sasse; brother, Charles Kent Robuck; and sister, Ellen Robuck.
Private services and burial were provided by Ziemer Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hillcrest Youth Services, 2700 W. Indiana St., Evansville, IN 47712.
