Sharon Y. Smeltzer

Sharon Y. (Freed) Smeltzer, 73, of West Manchester, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 10th, 2023.
She was born April 3rd, 1950, in York, Penn., the daughter of George and Florence (Weaver) Freed. Sharon was a life-long resident of York, where she graduated from York Catholic High School in 1968. She married Kenneth D. Smeltzer on October 26th, 1968, in York, Penn. Sharon spent the majority of her career serving in a variety of roles at Susquehanna Pfaltzgraff, where she took an early retirement in 2006. She continued her career at WSBA Radio Station for several years before fully retiring to spend time with her family and serve as an active member within her local Catholic parish.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth, her two sons, Scott (Kristen) and Jason (Tiffanie), and four grandchildren: Olivia, Georgia, Riley, and Colby. Sharon was proceeded in death by her four siblings and her parents. Above all else, Sharon loved to be with her family. Sharon will always be remembered for her cheerful support of those who were lucky enough to call themselves her friends and family and she will be deeply missed.
The family will receive friends at the John W. Keffer Funeral Home located on 2114 W. Market St., York PA on Thursday, May 18th, 2023, from 7:00pm-9:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the St. Rose of Lima Church of York on Friday, May 19th, 2023, at 11:00am, with interment to follow.
