Shawn Roundtree

Shawn Roundtree of Neptune, NJ (Tinton Falls) departed this life on Tuesday April 2, 2024.
Shawn was born April 4, 1963, the youngest son and fifth child of Leroy and Doris Roundtree. He grew up in Tinton Falls, NJ and moved to Neptune, NJ nearly 35 years ago.
Shawn attended school in Tinton Falls graduating in 1981 from Monmouth Regional High School. He played football and wrestled for Monmouth Reginal High School. He attended Penn State University until illness caused him to return home. Shawn was determined to complete his education and attended Brookdale Community College.
Shawn loved Martial Arts from the time he was a child. He even had a chance to have a match at the old New Jersey Nets stadium in the Meadow Lands. He loved music, movies, books, comics, art. He was a member of the debate club which if you know Shawn you know he did very well. He was a true social justice warrior, always fighting for the cause. He loved acting and performing improvisation. He won countless awards and trophies for his debating, acting and improv skills. He also performed off Broadway, all while dealing with his illness.
Shawn began dialysis at the age of 17 and continued for nearly 44 years. He is one the world's longest dialysis patients. He has amazed the medical community and all who know and love him with his will and persistence. He had a true love for life and Jehovah God.
Shawn Roundtree is survived by his 5 siblings Wayne Roundtree (Michele), Glenn Roundtree (Lori), Brett Roundtree, Angela Leggard and Pamela Roundtree. Nephews - Char (Lindsey), Taray, Jordan, Nieces - Leah, Nikki, Rosheeta, Tasia, Brittany, Pilar and Paris, and a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his Father Leroy Roundtree, Mother Doris Roundtree, Nephew Brandon Wiggins.
