Sheila Service Heimbuch, 99, died peacefully on February 27, 2025. She was born on October 29, 1925, in Rocky River, OH to Thomas and Nan Service.
Sheila graduated from Hillsdale College in Michigan with a bachelor's degree in Home Economics in 1949. Hillsdale College is where she met her college sweetheart and future husband, Robert "Bob" Heimbuch. They married on December 20, 1949, and spent their honeymoon in a little town in Florida called Sarasota and never left. She and Bob soon started to raise their family of three children.
After raising her children, Sheila embarked on a new career. She earned her CNA certificate and went to work at a new retirement center in Sarasota called Plymouth Harbor, where she spent the next 35 years working in their health center.
Sheila is survived by her son Chris Heimbuch and daughter Judy Mass (George). She was preceded in death by her husband Bob in 2005 and daughter Kim in 2019. A special thanks to the staff at The Pines of Sarasota for their compassionate care in Sheila's final years.
A memorial mass for Sheila will be celebrated on March 15th at 10:00 am at Incarnation Catholic Church, 2901 Bee Ridge Rd., Sarasota.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Sheila's memory to The Pines of Sarasota, 1501 N. Osprey Ave., Sarasota FL 34236.

I did not know Mrs Heimbuch but did know her husband. To us he was "Coach" Heimbuch. He was one of our coaches at Sarasota Jr High school. May she RIP.
