Sheryl A. Colosky (ne Hippensteele)
Sheryl A. Colosky of Solon, Ohio passed away peacefully in Cleveland on April 3, 2025 after a long struggle with Huntingtons Disease (HD). Her family and friends knew her as Shari.
Shari was born in Champaign, Illinois on March 30, 1946 to the late Lloyd and Hilda Ruth Hippensteele. She graduated high school in Lafayette, Indiana and earned a Bachelors Degree in Education from Purdue University. She worked in a number of jobs in the central Indiana area as an administrative assistant including positions at Purdue University, an international engineering firm, an Indianapolis law firm and Melvin Simon and Associates, a shopping center developer.
She enjoyed visiting with family and friends, travel, gardening and landscape design and reading many kinds of books. Over time she became a collector first of carousel horses and later teapots from various places we visited.
Shari was a dedicated member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 31 years and was a source of support and encouragement for many others in the program and those who were considering joining.
Shari was preceded in death by her parents and her two siblings Dennis and Alissa. She is survived by her husband of 44 years Charles Colosky, son Geoffrey Sean Davis, and her granddaughters Hannah Davis and Lauren Davis. Shari will be greatly missed by the family and friends she has left behind.
Our family wishes to thank the dedicated individuals from Cleveland Clinic Neurology Movement Disorders and Connected Care Teams and TheKey home health assistants who devotedly cared for her for many years.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that you consider a donation to a memorial fund to support research by the Huntingtons Disease Society of America (HDSA) here. The tribute type is "In Memory of" and "In Tribute of Name" is "Shari Colosky."
