It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sheryl L. Zmick, who departed this life on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at the age of 65, Sheryl was surrounded by loved ones. Born on March 7, 1960, in Mount Clemens, Michigan, Sheryl lived a life rich with love, care, and dedication. She resided in Chesterfield, MI, where she created a loving home with her beloved husband, Eric D. Zmick. Sheryl was the cherished mother to Matthew (Cailyn) Zmick and an adoring and proud GiGi to her granddaughter, Emerson. Her warm presence will be deeply missed by her mother, Sally VanDenbrooks, and her brother, Gary VanDenbrooks and many in laws. Sheryl is now reunited with her father, Norman VanDenbrooks, whose memory she held dear. A registered nurse by profession, Sheryl dedicated her life to the care and well-being of others, working steadfastly at Bi County Hospital, Mt. Clemens General, St. Joseph Hospital, and Beaumont. Even after her retirement, her instinct to care for those around her never waned. Sheryl's compassionate nature also extended to the animal kingdom, with whom she shared a special bond, including her best buddy, Nash. Beyond her immediate family, Sheryl's nurturing spirit touched the lives of her many nieces, nephews, and countless others. Her legacy of kindness, dedication, and love will be long remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her. The family will receive friends and family for visitation on Monday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Wasik Funeral Home, 35259 23 Mile Rd., New Baltimore.
