A Remembrance of Life Service for Shirley Boyette Antley will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 18, in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, 1321 North 7th Street, West Monroe. The family will receive visitors beginning at 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Brother Eddie Simmons will officiate. Shirley will be laid to rest at Epps Cemetery.
Shirley earned her heavenly reward on September 15, 2025, at the age of 88. She was born October 7, 1936, in Forest, Louisiana. Shirley was a loving mother, and grandmother. She was a firm believer in Jesus Christ and served as a prayer warrior for her loved ones and friends. She was a longtime member of Family Church. Shirley enjoyed a long career as an LPN. She worked at St. Joseph Nursing Home, in Monroe, LA for over 35 years. She also worked part-time as a relief nurse at Ridgecrest, The Oaks, and Guest House. She loved to travel with her family, including numerous cruises, a tour of the Holy Land, and frequent trips to Branson, Missouri and Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Shirley was preceded in death by her mother, Lillie Belle Hinton; step-father, Julius "Jack" Hinton; and brothers, Marvin Boyette and Gary Hinton.
Those left to cherish Shirley's memory are daughter, Cynthia Holland, and her husband, Howard; son, Scott Antley; grandchildren, Landon Antley Herman and Alex, Marley Holland, Harleigh Holland, and Julianna "Jules" Holland; sister, Linda Charleace Hinton; brother, Jerry Hinton, and sister-in-law, Delores Hinton. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and other family and friends.
The family wishes to thank St. Joseph Continuing Care Center for caring for Shirley in her final days.
Pallbearers will be Shirley's nephews and cousins.
