Shirley A. Umano

UMANO, Shirley A (Hogan) Of Plymouth, formerly from Somerville, passed away, on December 4, 2024. Beloved wife of Salvatore Umano. Loving mother to John Umano and his wife Jeanne of Whitman, Mary Federico of Plainville, Paul Umano and his wife Biagina of Brockton, Robert Umano of Plymouth, Michael Umano and his wife Lauren of Plymouth, Donna McClellan and her husband Scott of Plymouth, Nancy Berry and her husband Thomas of Plymouth, Paula Scarsciotti and her husband Rick of Wrentham and Joseph Umano and his wife Julie of South Weymouth. Sister to the late Marguerite (Peg) Delaney, the late Dorothy (Dot) Connolly, and the late John (Jack) Hogan. She is survived by 21 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
For many years, Shirley and Sal would travel to tropical places such as Hawaii, Aruba, Bermuda and multiple vacation spots in Florida. Shirley and Sal celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary in September of this year.
Shirley and Sal raised their nine children in Brockton where they resided until 1996. After many years as a homemaker, Shirley went to work for Tedeschi's Market in their main office in Rockland as a secretary to one of the owners. Once retired, Shirley and Sal moved to their new residence in Plymouth, Mass where they enjoyed visits from family for holidays, summer cookouts, anniversaries, weddings, and birthdays.
A period of visitation will take place on Friday, December 6, 2024, for immediate family and relatives from 8:30 to 10:30 at Cartmell-Davis Life Celebration Funeral Homes, 150 Court Street, Plymouth Ma., followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 at St Peter's Church 86 Court Street Plymouth Ma. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
