It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Spencer Louis Elswick, who left us too soon on March 9, 2025, at the age of 32. Spencer was born on June 20, 1992, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Wayne Elswick and Donna and Eric McGee.

Spencer was a remarkable individual known for his sharp intellect and logical mind. He had an extraordinary ability to think several steps ahead, often calculating his next move with precision and care. His mind was a puzzle-solving powerhouse—he could solve a Rubik’s Cube in less than 30 seconds and was a master chess player, easily besting even the most seasoned competitors. Spencer’s love for puzzles and problem-solving was evident in every aspect of his life. Whether it was a complex game or an intricate challenge, Spencer approached everything with determination and unwavering perseverance.

He had a unique sense of humor that only his brother, Jared, fully understood, and the two shared countless hours laughing together. Spencer’s relationship with his brother was one of the most treasured parts of his life, and they will forever be remembered for the bond they shared.

Beyond his love for logic and games, Spencer was a kind and thoughtful soul. He possessed a sweetness that made him a joy to be around. He was generous with his time and affection, always willing to lend a helping hand or offer a word of encouragement.

Spencer’s character was shaped by his Christian faith, and he found solace in reading his Bible and living by its teachings.

Spencer had a love for the outdoors, and many cherished memories were made during his hikes and moments spent in nature. Whether out in the woods or enjoying the beauty of the world around him, Spencer found peace and joy in God’s creation.

Spencer is preceded in death by his grandparents, Delbert and Ruth Duncan, and Bob and Carol Elswick.

Left to cherish his memory, Spencer is survived by his parents, Wayne Elswick and Donna and Eric McGee; brother, Jared Elswick; spouse, LeAndria Elswick; a host of aunts and uncles; and a host of extended family and close friends.

A memorial service to celebrate Spencer’s life will be at 4:00 PM on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at Louisville Memorial Gardens West, 4400 Dixie Highway, Louisville, Kentucky. Visitation will be held prior to the memorial service from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s’s Children’s Hospital, in memory of Spencer.

Rest in peace, Spencer. Your brilliance, kindness, and warmth will never be forgotten.
