On the evening of February 3, 2023, Stanley Alvin Wolven, passed away peacefully of natural causes at the age of 91.
Stanley was born in Petersburg, Indiana on September 13, 1931 to Fred and Alice (Benjamine) Wolven. After graduating from Petersburg High, in 1950, Stanley attended a year at Central Methodist University, in Fayette, Missouri.
On June 7, 1959, Stanley married the love of his life, Susan (Peterson) in Burnettsville, Indiana. To this union, two sons were born.
Stanley grew up in Petersburg, Indiana with fond memories of enjoying fishing, hunting and working on cars with his six siblings. He worked for 35 years at Conrail Railroad as a Yard Master where he made many friends who respectfully nicknamed him "Stoch".
Stanley was an active member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years. In addition, he was a member of the Eastern Star Crystal 165 and the White County Shrine Club. He remained a devoted member until he moved to Georgia to live with his family.
Stanley was preceded in death by both of his parents, his wife, Susan and special nephew, Stan Allen Stone. He is survived by his sons, Charles (Irene) and Fred (Charlotte); sisters, Joyce Stone, Shirley Willis and June Nance; brothers, Dan (Arlene), Denver and Mike (Linda); special nephew, Benjamin Stone; grandson, Linzy Sizer, Jr., loving nieces, nephews and very special friends who were like family to him in Burnettsville, Indiana.
A "Celebration of Life" will be planned for Stanley at a later date.
