BELLVILLE: Stephanie Dillon had a heart of gold. She had a rare gift for seeing the good in others and helping them see it too. Stephanie was a kind and positive woman who personified selflessness.
Her golden heart is at rest, as Stephanie Ann Dillon passed away peacefully Sunday, November 2, 2025, in her rural Bellville home, surrounded by the people she loved most. She was 58.
Born August 15, 1967, in Mansfield to John A. and Nancy A. (Ganea) Voelp, Stephanie was a 1985 graduate of Madison High School. She began her career at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital, serving in roles from switchboard to medical records. Even then, her natural curiosity and love of learning led her to Ashland University's Dwight Schar College of Nursing, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and became a registered nurse.
Stephanie's career reflected both her intellect and her heart. She cared deeply for those she served through Richland Newhope at Raintree, later at the Ohio School for the Deaf and Blind in Columbus, Richland Public Health in Mansfield, and eventually as a school nurse with Constellation Schools in the Mansfield area. Most recently, she served with Columbus City Schools, where her compassion and professionalism touched countless young lives.
An active member of the Ohio Association of School Nurses, Stephanie served for many years on the Education Endowment Committee, helping to raise scholarship funds to support the next generation of school nurses. She was loved by her students and colleagues at Avalon Elementary School, where her genuine interest in others and gift for encouragement helped everyone feel seen.
Defined by kindness, Stephanie carried an open spirit and an instinct to give others the benefit of the doubt. She delighted in small joys-movies on the Hallmark Channel (especially The Notebook), country music favorites like Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, and Brad Paisley, and traveling to new places for nursing conferences. Ever curious, she tried her hand at racing sailboats, and never turned down the challenge of a new roller coaster at Cedar Point.
She was a thoughtful reader, drawn to holistic medicine and the study of the Gene Keys Hologenetic Profile-seeking meaning, growth, and a deeper understanding of life's design.
Stephanie found "her person" in Sean Dillon, and the two were married on May 5, 2018. She described him simply and sincerely as "the love of my life."
She is survived by her loving husband Sean Dillon, her children-Andrew (Jaymi) Chaffin of Columbus and Alexandra (Gabe) Dawson of Mansfield- Stepchildren Sierra Dillon and Jared Dillon, both of Mansfield; grandchildren Hazel Obar, Liam & Miles Dawson, Zandyn Milner, and Willow Dillon; her father John Voelp of Mansfield; brother Frederick (Mandy) Voelp of Delaware; and sister Holly Ann Kapusinski of Post Falls, Idaho. She was preceded in death by her mother, Nancy Voelp, in October 2024.
Stephanie's family will receive guests Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 4:00–7:00 p.m. in the Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home, where her funeral service will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m., led by Celebrant Christine Robinson. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Friendly House.
The Snyder Funeral Home is honored to serve Stephanie's family. Messages of support and memories may be shared-and her Tribute Video viewed-at www.SnyderFuneralHomes.com.
For everything there is a season,
and a time for every purpose under heaven:
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance.
- Ecclesiastes 3
May we give thanks for the season we were given with Stephanie-
for her kindness, her curiosity, her heart of gold, and her profound ability to find good in everyone she met.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and strength that will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
