Stephen Charles Simons

Simons, Stephen, age 75, of Lansing, passed away January 23, 2025. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy J., his brother, Vern Jr., and his father, Vern Sr. Steve is survived by his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 55 years, Janet; brother Tom Simons; son Don (Vicky) of Ashley, MI; daughter KayCe (Brian) Parsons of Jackson, MI; grandchildren Chelsea (Matthew) Blain; Don Simons II (Hannah), Bradley Simons, and Lynsie Simons; great-grandchildren Don Simons III, Elsie Simons, Madyson Blain, and Bryce Blain; as well as nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Steve graduated from Lansing Everett High School in 1968 and lived his entire life in Lansing, MI. He retired from the Lansing Board of Water and Light where he worked for more than 30 years. He was an avid outdoorsman, spending much of his free time camping, deer hunting, and fishing on Michigan's Great Lakes. Steve loved watching his Michigan sports teams, especially the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions, and MSU Spartans; and spending time riding his Honda Gold Wing trike. He was an expert craftsman in woodworking and cabinet making, creating beautiful items in his personal wood shop. Steve was always quick to help a friend or family member, whether it was plumbing, electrical, or computers, and tried to pass his knowledge on to those around him.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or to the American Diabetes Foundation.
To honor Steve's wishes, private services have taken place.
