Stephen W. Taber, 65, passed away on May 23, 2022. He was born on July 22, 1956 to Willard A. and Ruth Taber in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. He was predeceased by his parents; and his 2 brothers, Willard R. Taber and Daniel Taber.
?Stephen Taber attained a PhD in Biology from the University of Texas, Austin. He was a Professor of Biology at Saginaw Valley State University since 2004 specializing in Entomology. Dr. Taber published 3 books and numerous articles in the field of Entomology. He was a dedicated teacher, researcher, and spent long hours in the field studying insects and the environment. He was an avid reader and chess player, and loved classical music and opera. He also had close relationships with the faculty in biology at SVSU, specifically Cal Borden and Laurie Reed.
?A burial will take place in the family plot at Philos Cemetery in Westernport, Maryland. Those planning an expression of sympathy should consider making a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

He was a great student at TTU where I was a faculty member on his MS committee. We corresponded intermittently regarding insects, and It was a pleasure tracking his progress through attaining his doctoral degree from UT and his subsequent employment in the field of endeavor that he cared so much about.
