Steven L Arp

Steve Arp, 71 of Conrad, IA passed away on August 21, 2022 while under the care of Cedar Valley Hospice at Westbrook Acres in Gladbrook, IA. Cremation rights were accorded and no services will be held at this time, honoring Steve s request. Anderson Funeral Homes of Conrad was entrusted with the arrangements. Steve was born August 14,1951 to David and Barbara (Petermeier) Arp in Marshalltown, IA. He graduated from Gladbrook High School-Class of 1969. Steve attended college at Northwest Missouri State and the University of Iowa. He was united in marriage to Chris Osten on October 5, 1974. From the union of marriage, Lindsay was born in 1979 and Wendy in 1981. Steve and Chris later divorced. Steve was employed in the family business, Arp Trucking and enjoyed many miles traveling, especially traveling west. In those days, many of his family and friends hopped along for the ride and have shared memories and great stories. Steve continued to drive for Arp Trucking and eventually took on other roles including dispatch and mechanic. He also enjoyed time with Blunt Racing as a member of their pit crew. Prior to retirement, he drove as an owner/operator for Siemens Trucking. Rarely did he turn down an opportunity to be on the road. Steve enjoyed spending time with his friends, grandkids, and dog, Fred.
Left to mourn his loss are two daughters; Lindsay (Roger) Elmore of Gladbrook, Wendy (Jason) Street of Johnston, IA, four grandchildren, Addison, Cullen, Rebecca, Rachel, and of course his dog, Fred, who now resides with Wendy, in Johnston. Steve will be missed by those who knew him.
