Susan Wilk Anderson went home to Jesus on Friday, January 10, 2025 at age 68.
Susan was born to Elizabeth Wilk and Joseph Wilk Sr. on February 13 1956 in Louisville, Ky. As a child, Susan, along with sister Nancy Willis and brother Joseph Wilk Jr., loved going on beach trips which continued throughout their adult lives. Susan also was on the swim team as a youth and she loved hanging with her friends. Susan graduated Bowling Green High School in 1974 and graduated Western Kentucky University in 1979. She moved to Dallas and worked for Sanger-Harris for the first few years after college and then embarked on a career as a flight attendant with American Airlines. This is when she developed her love of traveling. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior in 1987 and held an unwavering faith in God which she shared with those who surrounded her. Susan met her husband, James W Anderson, on a blind date in November 1991. For James, it was love at first sight and they married January 30, 1993. Susan enjoyed being a flight attendant and later owning her own home and elder care business. But, without a doubt, she loved being a full time mom to Brian, Kevin, and Leigh the most. In addition to being a dedicated and loving mother, Susan also loved traveling the world, spreading the love and gospel of Jesus Christ, serving in her church nursery every Sunday, and volunteering in the Shine disabilities ministry. Susan joins Elizabeth Wilk, Joseph Wilk Sr., and Brian Anderson in Heaven. She is survived by husband James, children Kevin and Leigh, sister Nancy Willis, (Harvey), brother Joseph Wilk Jr., (Gretchen), and multiple in-laws, nieces and nephews on both hers and James's side of the family.
"The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."
Psalms 23:1-6 NIV

Dear Susan,

How deeply I will miss your warm smile as we served together, caring for the little ones. You were among the first friends I made at SE Kids, and I have always admired your unwavering love, devotion, and care for the children. Words cannot fully capture how much your absence is felt, but my heart aches with the loss of your presence.

I have lifted your family up in prayer through this time of grief and will continue to do so in the days ahead. Though your race is complete, we will press on, running with faith and hope until that glorious day when we are reunited once more.

With love and gratitude,
Faith

I will always remember her hospitality. She opened her home to a group of girls and their moms for a year for P31 group. She was so welcoming and creative.
