Tanya Marie. Tawny Too. Daughter. Niece. Sister. Wife. Mom. Mimi. Friend. Whichever way you knew Tanya Marie Walston, you knew that her presence was undeniable. A longstanding resident of Haltom City, Texas, Tanya kept with family tradition when making the coast a second home. After graduating from Corpus Christi's Del Mar College at the top of her class, Tanya's nursing career enabled her to selflessly help others. She devoted over a decade to dermatology before becoming an adored hospice care nurse who helped patients and families during the most difficult times. Outside of work, she was found maintaining a bountiful vegetable and moonflower garden, listening to epic music, cooking southern comfort food, shopping for thoughtful gifts, and lounging by a pool in the summer sun.
March 1, 2023, Tanya peacefully reunited with her father Jerry Smith, her mother Fay Brown, and her brother Jason Smith in the "Great Gig in the Sky." Those left to sing along to her vast play list include husband Randy Walston; aunt Barbara Miller; sister and brother in-law Lisa and Edmund Geer; brothers Jerry and John Smith; children Selina Humphrey, Kevin Bussard, and Shane Webb; bonus children Randi Smith and Ethan Walston; nephew Allen Geer; fifteen grandchildren: Lane, Davis, Jude, and River; Scarlett, Annabel, and Keith Jr; Landyn, Brooklyn, Liberti, and Kenidi; Paisley and Oakley; Anita and Michael; and one great grandchild, Cailin.
In lieu of traditional flowers, feel free to bring potted plants that can replanted to continue the cycle of life. For anyone wanting to contribute to services, Alpine Funeral Home will collect any monetary donations: (817) 834-4116.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday March 11, 2023, from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the Christian Center of Fort Worth, located at 4301 NE 28th street, Fort Worth TX 76117.
Please send any songs that remind you of Tanya so that she can be honored in the way she would have wanted: Music is Life.

To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
