Terry Dyson, lovely known as Candy to everyone was born on October 4, 1942 in Hazlehurst, Mississippi. She was the second of three children born to the late John Belton and Evelyn Samuels.
On Sunday, February 11, 2024, Sister Terry answered the Master's call at Hood's Memorial Hospital in Amite, Louisiana. She was a member of the Big Creek A.M.E. Church where she remained active and faithful until her illness wouldn't allow her to attend. She was a faithful servant, who served on the Usher Board and wherever needed.
Terry was united in matrimony to Freddie Dyson in 1956 and to this union 5 children were born. Sister Terry was known in the community as a good cook and baker. She found pleasure in preparing food for others to eat and enjoy.
After a beautiful and blessed life she leaves to cherish her memory, four children: Linda (Johnny) Buckley, Patrick Dyson, Thyron Dyson and Melissa Dyson all of Kentwood, La., two sisters Ella Mae Davis of Hazlehurst Miss. And Nina (Gene)Tyree of Columbus Ohio, one nephew, William Samuels, one niece Kelly Tyree, 7 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and many relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her (mother) Evelyn Samuel, (Father) John Belton, (Husband) Freddie Dyson, (Son) Mark Dyson and 2 great grandchildren.
