Theodore Alfred Knapp Jr.

Theodore "Teddy" Alfred Knapp, Jr., 76, of South Beloit, Illinois, passed away at his home on Sunday, January 26, 2025.
Teddy was born on Sunday, May 2, 1948, in Rockford, Illinois, the son of Theodore Alfred and Edna Bell (Champion) Knapp, Sr. He grew up in Orfordville, Wisconsin and graduated from Parkview High School in 1966.
After graduating high school Teddy went to work at Sonoco Products in Rockton, Illinois. On April 1,1968, he was drafted into the United States Army. Teddy served in Vietnam for a year and earned 2 bronze stars for his efforts. After being honorably discharged from the Army on March 31, 1970, Teddy returned to the Stateline area and began working again at Sonoco Products. He retired from Sonoco as a supervisor and safety coordinator after more than 40 years of employment. On August 10, 1987, Teddy married the former Marjorie Earlene McIntyre in Rockford, Illinois.
Teddy was a kind, loving, selfless and generous man who was loyal, and had a heart of gold. He was a master on "the grill" and could grill most anything. Teddy was a member of the Orfordville American Legion Post 209. He marched in the Orfordville Fourth of July Parade for many years and volunteered his time with VetsRoll welcoming troops home after serving in Afghanistan. Teddy loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also loved going to classic car shows, fishing, boating, and camping.
Teddy is survived by his wife, Marjorie; children, Shawna (Raul) Perez, Mark Kosier, and Tim (Margo) Kosier; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren including Marley, and Hendrix; sister, Beverly Dowda; numerous other relatives and friends including a special niece, Tana Scott; and his fury baby, Pie-Pie. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Rena Kosier; brother, David Knapp; sister, Carol Scott; and two brothers-in-law, Robert Scott, and John Bresinger.
Visitation is 10:00 a.m. followed by a sharing of memories service at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at Hansen-Gravitt Funeral Home, 424 Prospect Street, Beloit, Wisconsin 53511. Committal with military honors provided by the at Floral Lawn Cemetery in South Beloit, Illinois will follow the service. Online condolences can be shared at www.hansengravitt.com
