Thoma Elizabeth Wood, age 86, of Villa Rica, Georgia passed away Saturday, December 30, 2023. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Douglasville, Georgia.
Born in Hogansville, GA, Mrs. Wood lived in the Mableton-Austell for most of her adult life with her late husband, Bill Wood, Sr. She retired from Acceptance Insurance Agency at 80 years old, having enjoyed her job and clients so much. She was a member of ONE Baptist Church in Douglasville, GA; and had a heart for missions around the world. Thoma was known for loving, serving, and praying for people; much of which she lived for, since her husband's passing.
Survivors include: son, Pastor Billy (Shannon) Wood; son, Kent (Irene) Holcomb; 2 stepdaughters, Shelia Wood and Cindy (Gary) Gosdin; grandchildren, Chelsea (David) Blankinship, Cayla (Adam) Browning, Madison (Stephen) Shirley, Ruthie (Zachary) Johnson, Jameson Wood, Charleigh Wood, Jason Holcomb and Daniel (Tonya) Holcomb, David (Michele) Kerlin, Tiffany (Tony) Lankford; and 15 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory.
