Thomas Edward Duncan, 84, of Midwest City, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family; on Monday, February 19, 2024. Tom was born June 30, 1939, in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
He grew up in Pawhuska, Oklahoma and moved to Oklahoma City during his teens to graduate from Capitol Hill High School in 1957. Tom retired from Oklahoma Publishing Company as Head of Composing after 38 years.
Tom was married for 32 years to his loving wife, Delores J. Duncan, until her death in 2012. They spent lots of time together traveling all over the United States and Europe. They both really enjoyed Germany, Scotland, and England. They loved their Oklahoma Sooners and enjoyed watching them beat Texas, OSU, and everyone else! Tom spent the last 10 years with his beloved companion, Charlene Endecott. They loved bowling in their Tuesday night league and traveling all over Oklahoma and frequently visiting Branson, Missouri. They rarely had a night alone because they went to dinner 6 nights a week with family and friends. When Tom wasn't at the coffee shop with all his buddies, he was at 23rd Street Motors watching tv; pretending to work. He was a member of the Cherokee Nation and was very proud of his Native American heritage. One of his favorite things in the world was coaching baseball for hundreds of kids; some of which went on to the big leagues. Tom never met a stranger and was the kindest person you could ever know.
He is preceded in death by parents Rev. James H. Duncan and Dora B. Duncan, wife Delores J. Duncan, brother John E. Duncan, sister Jimmie Mae Chatham, and stepson Sam Youngblood.
He is survived by his children Russell Duncan of Oklahoma City, Jeffrey (Karen) Duncan of Chandler, Oklahoma, Richard Duncan of Oklahoma City, Terry (Saowaruk) Duncan of Yukon, Oklahoma, Kathleen (Steve) Luketich of Nederland, Texas and stepdaughter Kay (Danny) Addington of Midwest City, Oklahoma.
He loved his 12 perfect grandchildren; Katie Jo Duncan, Derek, Dalton and Deidra Addington, Daniel and Alex Luketich, Sally and Davis Duncan, Sam, James and Sydney Duncan, and Olivia Duncan.
Services will be held on Friday, February 23 at 10am at Ford Funeral Home, 305 S. Sooner Road, Del City, Ok 73110. Visitation will be held Thursday evening 4pm-8pm at Ford Funeral Home.
