Thomas B. Scheil, 89, of Rochester, MI, passed away on January 7, 2025. He was born on February 24, 1935, in Detroit, MI, where he grew up and later earned his master's degree in accounting from the University of Detroit. An accountant at heart, both professionally and personally, he began his career working at various accounting firms, and he met his wife, Ann, during an audit at Harper Hospital. They married in 1962 and shared over 61 wonderful years together. Tom was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ann in December of 2023.
Tom was very involved with his church, where he formed many lasting friendships. While living in Rochester, he took great pride in his garden, meticulously tracking his yearly crops of cucumbers and tomatoes. Later in life, he (and Ann) joined OPC, where he often volunteered and contributed many articles to Vintage Views, the organization's newsletter. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors, walking Rochester's trails with friends and family.
Tom and Ann were blessed with three children, Christine Ford, Paul (Carol) Scheil and Mary (Darin) Roush. Tom found great joy in spending time with his grandchildren - Joshua, Elizabeth, and Alison Scheil, and Madelyn and Haley Roush - and loved supporting them in their education and life pursuits.
