Thomas W. Wolocen, 76, of Amsterdam passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam following a brief illness.

He was born in Amsterdam, NY on November 1, 1948, a son of the late William and Jean (nee, Cionek) Wolocen. He was a 1966 graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School in Amsterdam and received his B.S. in Accounting from the State University of New York at Albany. Thomas also attended classes at HVCC in Troy, NY.

Thomas worked as an Accountant for the Teresian House in Albany. He later retired from Ellis Hospital in Schenectady from the IT department in 2013. Thomas enjoyed working on cars, NASCAR Races, watching golf and socializing.

He married Rosemary Wilde on April 20,2001. She passed away on October 19, 2022.

Survivors include his cousins, friends and adopted family, David, Betty, Amy and Scott.

Thomas was a resident of Hillcrest Spring Residential Health Care Facility in Amsterdam for the past two years. He was grateful and appreciative for the kind and caring support provided to him during this time. Sincere thanks to the entire staff, especially Molly, Lucy, Tammy, Noreene and Michele.

A special thank you is also extended to Dr. Heather Madigan and the superb staff of St. Mary's Healthcare Intensive Care Unit for the exemplary care of Thomas during the last week of his life. Their support and kind words were a great comfort.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 9:00 AM at the Rose & Hughes Funeral Home, 200 Church Street, Amsterdam, NY with The Very Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis E.V. presiding. Private Interment will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Amsterdam.
