Timothy Lloyd Capito, 74, entered into eternal rest peacefully on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at Advent Memorial Hospital in Daytona Beach, FL. He was born on March 10, 1950, to Luther Edward Capito and Verna Norris Bradley. His early years were spent growing up in Eastwood, Kentucky, on the farm of his paternal grandparents,, Noah Daniel and Nora Rutledge Capito.
In the late 1950s, the family moved to Fern Creek, Kentucky, where they built their home on land next to his maternal grandparents', Thomas Jefferson and Jeneda Nichols Bradley's, farm.
At a young age, Tim married Barbara G. Lebangood and had four children: Bryan, Cheryl, Kevin, and Melissa. They resided in Louisville, Kentucky, and he worked for Ready Mix Concrete. Tim excelled in the concrete business, working his way to several superintendent positions until his life's path took him to Florida in the mid-1980s, where he worked in various fields including HVAC and boxing promotions. He was even a limousine driver until he settled into heavy construction equipment maintenance from which he retired in 2018.
Tim had a personality plus with a quick whit, fun sense of humor, and a smile that could light up a room. Tim never met a stranger. He was a lover of all sports and especially loved time on the golf course. He was also a highly skilled pool player and won many tournaments in his day. Tim enjoyed Maker's Mark and Budweiser Chelatas with a side of salt. He was fond of all living creatures with a special passion for cats. Tim is dearly missed by Nameless, his feral feline friend. Tim would joke and say, this cat showed up on the job site one day and would not tell his name, so I named him 'Nameless'.
Tim's final act of kindness was to give the gift of sight through organ donation.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Verna Capito; brother, Glenn Elwood Capito; life partner, Stephanie Leet, and his firstborn son, Bryan Joseph Capito.
He is survived by his sister, Valerie Dawn Capito-Mundy; son, Kevin Capito; daughters, Cheryl Capito-Paul (Clyde) and Melissa Taylor (Brent); five grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will have a private ceremony to honor Tim's life at a later date. Please feel free to make a memorial donation to any charity in his name.
