Timothy Jordan Currier, Sr., 73 of Troy, Michigan, and Glenview, Illinois, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2025, with his family by his side.

Tim was the cherished husband of Ellen Currier; the devoted father of Mary Bridget (Jeffrey), Meghan, Timothy (Toby), and Courtney; a beloved grandfather of Owen, Reilly, Avi, and Jesse; a loyal brother of Michael J. Currier (Patty); loving cousin and uncle to countless members of his extended family and godchildren; and trusted confidant to countless friends and colleagues. He is preceded in death by his father, Vincent J. Currier; his mother, Jean E. McCann Currier; his dad, Jack W. McCann; his brother, Dennis T. Currier; and his nephew, Patrick J. Currier. He is also welcomed by many other members of the "Currier Clan" and in-laws, who were a second family to him.

Celebrated attorney, mentor, and leader, Tim was beloved by his community and peers. Tim was a graduate of Brother Rice High School ('71), the University of Notre Dame ('75), and the University of Detroit School of Law ('78).

Tim practiced law and led with a perfect balance of heart and head. He is recognized locally, state-wide, and nationally, receiving numerous accolades, recognitions, and awards for his expertise in municipal and school law. He began his practice at Dell, Shantz, Booker and Schulte, P.C., before becoming a partner at Beier Howlett, P.C., where he was quickly appointed and remained CEO for many years. He proudly served as the City Attorney for the City of Birmingham for over thirty years, and represented many other municipalities, school districts, and organizations in the Metro Detroit Area. These were all positions he held with honor as a lifelong Detroiter. He was the past president of the University of Detroit Club, the Brother Rice High School Alumni Association, and the University of Notre Dame Detroit Alumni Club, where he was also a valued board member. He supported many charitable institutions affiliated with these organizations. He was a champion of meaningful connections, which drove his path to supporting others and communities-always with wisdom, harmony, and compassion.

Tim's defining role was as husband to Ellen for 49 years. They met at Notre Dame, were college sweethearts, and the best of friends. They were married on campus in 1976. They have continued to remain close with their dearest collegiate friends.

Tim was a motivational and even-handed coach of all things-whether it was getting his children up on water skis on his home away from home, Walloon Lake, coaching his children's teams, coming home from hours of work and being a late-night tutor, watching too many figure skating and Irish dance competitions, and applauding many piano recitals. He spent hundreds of hours cheering on the sidelines for his children's and grandchildren's sporting events, right up until the end of his journey. He was always an enthusiast of Ellen's volunteer commitments.

An avid reader and historian, Tim lived for Notre Dame football and all things involving American and Irish heritage. He also enjoyed a hand of bridge and a round of golf. Tim loved music, dancing, cinema, and the theater.

In his final weeks, Tim was most comforted by his dear family and friends, who supported him in his brave fight. His faith filled him with a sense of peace in his parting.

Tim will be remembered for his courage, brilliance, humor, loyalty, and fierce vivacity for life.

Funeral mass will be Friday, August 1, 10:00am at Holy Name Catholic Church, 630 Harmon, Birmingham. Visitation at church begins 9am. Irish wake to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The University of Notre Dame, memo line: "ND Club of Detroit Scholarship, Tim Currier", 1100 Grace Hall, Notre Dame, IN 46556. Donate here.
