Timothy P. Lloyd, 52, of Florence, NJ, passed away on May 4, 2024, with his family at his side. Tim left behind his wife, Tina (Lewallen), and three children, Josh, Evan, and Bridget; his mother, Carol (Solowski) Lloyd, of East Windsor, NJ; his sister and brother-in-law Karen (Lloyd) and Ryan Eakes, and his nephew and niece, David and Simone Eakes, of Montrose, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his father, Philip R. Lloyd, his uncles, Bruce G. Lloyd, Joseph J. Solowski, and Raymond A. Solowski. He is also survived by his aunts, Linda (Lloyd) McGhee, Margaret Solowski, and Diane Solowski, Lewllen sisters in-law and their spouses and dear Lewallen nieces and nephews and Solowski cousins.
Tim grew up in Trenton, NJ, in his family's funeral home, Thatcher-Lloyd Funeral Home, often assisting his father in the business as a boy; a formative experience that was evident in his compassion for others. During these same years, he enjoyed holidays and many adventures with his Solowski cousins, Lisa, Nancy, and Tracy, doing everything from camping to skiing to going to the beach.
An avid Yankees fan, Tim loved to play baseball as a young boy, work behind the plate as a young man with his dear friend, Mark Duczeminskyj, and most of all he loved coaching his children. He loved the Steelers so much he purchased Baltimore Ravens tickets so he could see them play live. He would spend many hours talking about sports with his mother-in-law Marianne and his wife's Aunts A&B. He spent many Thursday evenings shooting darts in the Trenton Dart League, was a member of Capitol City Riders, and a Boy Scout Leader for Troop 3 in Roebling.
Tim was kind and generous and always there with a helping hand for friends and strangers. He was the most thoughtful person and never missed even the tiniest of details which often resulted in a gift, probably handmade, just because.
Tim loved people, living by the motto "the more the merrier," and always found room for one more. Everywhere (literally, everywhere) Tim went he ran into someone he knew and even if he hadn't met you before, you would soon become his friend.
One of the things Tim enjoyed most was carrying on the tradition of playing Santa Claus, handed down from Mark's father, Stan Duczeminskyj. Tim woke up in the wee hours on Christmas morning, dressed up as Santa Claus, and woke up the children of family and friends. He would travel an hour just to bring joy and awe to a child.
Tim had a pure love for music, sitting for hours playing his guitar and taking his kids to visit guitar factories.
Tim worked with the Florence School District as an assistant to the special education teachers. His patience with children was unwavering and he was always around with helping hands for whatever was needed. Tim wanted to make a difference in the lives of the children he worked with. He will be greatly missed.
