Travis Scott Ison passed away on March 28, 2025, in his home in Lindley, New York. He was born on March 17, 1987, to his loving parents, Terry and Sandy Ison, in Emporia, Kansas.
Travis grew up fishing, hunting, and canoeing on the Cottonwood River with his friends. He graduated from Emporia High School in 2005, where he excelled in soccer, glassblowing, and ceramics. He later attended Emporia State University, pursuing a degree in art with a focus on glassblowing, and graduated in 2012.
Driven by his adventurous spirit, Travis worked in Skagway, Alaska; Seattle, Washington; and Avon, Colorado before settling in Lindley, New York, to continue his career in glass. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting with friends and family, playing disc golf with his brother, and hiking and kayaking with his fiance, Katie, and their dogs, Cooper and Fiona.
Travis had a deep love for life, but above all, he cherished the people around him. He had a special way of bringing people together and making them feel welcome in any circumstance. Always with a smile, Travis never met a stranger and had room for everyone in his heart. His warmth and generosity touched many, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Travis leaves behind his loving fiance Katie, dogs Cooper and Fiona; his parents, Terry and Sandy; his brother Tyler and his wife Kayla; his grandmother Margie Lehning; his uncle Bob and aunt Wendy Fancher (Nick and Fawna); his uncle Don and aunt Angie Houser Clay (Randielle) Houser; and his uncle Paul and aunt Connie Chambers.
We invite friends and family to join us in the Celebration of Traviss life on April 11, 2025 from 1:003:00 pm at the Lyon County History Center (3rd floor, 711 Commercial St., Emporia, KS 66801). In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the family.
