Vera Madge Fore

Vera Madge Fore, 98, of Springfield, Mo., passed away January 24, 2024, after a long illness. Vera was born in Bakersfield, MO. on June 3, 1935, to Andrew and Gladys (Cargill) Roberts. Vera was life-long Springfield resident. She was a homemaker and a long-time member of First Baptist Church, Springfield. Mo. where she enjoyed working in the food pantry and she also enjoyed cooking a Thanksgiving meal for those that didn't have family they could be with.
She did the meal for many years, and the number of people attending grew and grew. Vera also enjoyed sewing and was known for her fine seamstress work.
Vera was preceded in death by her husband, James J.W. Fore, her parents, a brother: Jack Roberts and a sister: Betty Jo Watkins. Vera is survived by two daughters: Linda Richards and Tricia Redel and her husband, Roger, two grandchildren: Jill Unel and her husband, Chad, and Nichols Redel and his wife: Andrea, two great-grandchildren: Caroline and Evie Redel, and a special cousin, John Thomas J.T. Roberts and his wife, Edna. He is also survived by several other cousins.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 29, 2024, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. till service time, on Monday. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday, at Baptist Hill cemetery, near Bakersfield, MO.
