Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Leyva was a genuine family man. On June 6, 2024, he would have celebrated his 35th anniversary with his wife, Jeri, whom he loved deeply. Together they created a large, loving, close-knit family, with four children and ten grandchildren. He was incredibly proud and devoted to his family, nothing was more important.
Witty and gregarious, Vince was a huge storyteller, who never met a stranger. His hallmark was dad jokes, which he would tell repeatedly, often resulting in his own uproarious laughter. Mr. Leyva enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and listening to country music in his spare time. He was a huge fan of the Cubs and Cowboys.
Vicente leaves behind his wife of 34 years, Jeri Leyva of Horn Lake, MS; his three sons, Sonny Wayne (Nicole) Leyva of Southaven, MS, Ricky (Brittney) Leyva and Manny Leyva both of Horn Lake; his daughter, Lucia (Alejandro) Garivay of Horn Lake; his father, Vicente (Terry) Leyva Jr. of El Paso, TX; his stepmother, Minerva Leyva of El Paso; his six granddaughters, Kendall, Lorelia, Parker, Sofia, Xiomara, and Mia; his four grandsons, Liam, Noah, Sonny, and Alejandro; his grandmother, Eva Santa Cruz of El Paso; his grandfather, Thomas Gonzalez of El Paso; his two brothers, Eddie Leyva and Azzea Leyva, both of El Paso; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; all left to cherish his memory.
Mr. Leyva was preceded in death by his mother, Lucia Santa Cruz; his grandmother, Maria Leyva; his grandfather, Manuel Santa Cruz; and his sister, Selena Leyva.
In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Mr. Vincent Leyva can be made to DeSoto Hope (www.desotohope.org) or the Wounded Warrior Project (www.woundedwarriorproject.org).
Expressions of condolences may be left on Mr. Vicente Leyva's Tribute Wall at www.colemanfuneralhome.com.
