Vicente "Chente" Sanchez Jr.
June 2, 1960 - October 27, 2024
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Vicente "Chente" Sanchez Jr., beloved Brother, Godfather, Uncle, Brother-in-Law, and Educator, who left us on October 27, 2024. He was born on June 2, 1960, in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Vicente Sr. and Zenaida Sanchez A devoted family man, Vicente is survived by his brothers and sisters, Juanita (David Silvia (Jesus), Pedro (Natalia), Adriana, Primo (Nellie), Veronica, Jesus, Alejandro (Irma), Francisca; and his great nephew/Godson Daniel Jr. whom he took under his wing, along with all his nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Vicente graduated from Gadsden High School in 1978 and went on to earn his bachelor's and master's degrees in education from New Mexico State University. He had 38 years of experience as an educator in various roles. Chente began his career as a teacher at Riverside Elementary, then found his way to San Elizario Independent School District, followed by the Canutillo Independent School District. Ultimately, he returned to Gadsden Independent School District where he was an assistant principal at Desert Trail Elementary and then Berino Elementary. He then transitioned into his role as principal. In this new position, he served at Chaparral Elementary, La Union Elementary, and Riverside Elementary. He was a passionate and committed educator whose priority was serving children and their educational needs.
In addition to his role in education, Vicente was known for his love and dedication to his family, friends, and community. Chente will be deeply missed but forever remembered for the love he had for his family and the significant impact he made on the hearts of all who knew him.
