Vincent Piras entered everlasting life Sunday, December 15, 2024. Vincent was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1932 to Giovanni and Sarina Piras. He was the youngest of four children with a very large, close-knit Italian family that adored their heritage. Vincent was born during the Great Depression and a child during WWII, which made him the pillar of strength for his family. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. After the Navy, he began his career with Combustion Engineering in New York City. Shortly thereafter, he married and relocated to Connecticut where he spent the next 40 years as an engineer.
As a man who found a unique delight in every aspect of life, he loved conversing with everyone. His love of the opera, history, carpentry, reading, singing, dancing and cooking are things he cherished throughout his life. But what he cherished above all was the value of his strong family core.
Vincent leaves behind his two daughters, Lisa and Eva, son-in-law Paul, Grandchildren, Zachary and Lilly, many nieces and nephews that he adored deeply along with a special companion, Sandra. In addition to his loving parents, he was predeceased by his 3 sisters, Mary, Theresa and Gina, his son-in-law Jim and son Vincent Jr. His family would like to extend their utmost gratitude to all those who gave their endless care and compassion for him.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, January 4th at 10:30 a.m. at Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Avenue, Windsor, CT 06095.
