Mrs. Virginia Coleman Smith was born on May 3, 1941, to Joe Coleman and Frances Lizzie Parks Coleman in Griffin, Georgia. "Tutt" as she was affectionately called by her family and friends was educated in Middle School in Griffin Spalding County, Georgia.

Virginia accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age at Trinity Methodist Church, and later joined Mt. Nebo Community Baptist Church in Griffin, Georgia, under the leadership of Pastor Janet Curtis-Ware. She was a member of the Gold Heins.

Ms. Virginia Coleman met the love of her life Mr. Johnny Lewis Smith, Jr., and was united in holy matrimony in Griffin, Georgia.

Mrs. Virginia was employed by David's Bakery in Griffin, Georgia as a Baker and Cake Decorator for many years. In her leisure time she enjoyed cooking, and spending time with her family and friends.

On Tuesday, September 23, 2025, Mrs. Virginia Coleman Smith name was called, and she answered and was free from all sickness and pain. Rest now in peace and comfort, your journey has ended, battle fought, and victory won. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe Coleman and Frances Lizzie Parks Coleman, brothers, Hershel Coleman, James Coleman, and Joe Coleman, Jr., and her sisters, Teresa Coleman, and Carolyn Joyce Coleman.

Mrs. Virginia Coleman Smith leaves a legacy of memories to her aunts and uncle, Willie P. Jenkins, Clacy Yvonne Parks-Gilbert, Marie Parks-Wilson, and Hiram S. Parks. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends that will miss her dearly.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025, from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM at Burden's Funeral Home. Service will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Mt. Nebo Community Baptist Church, 604 N 3rd Street. The body will lie in state at the Church one hour prior to the service hour. Interment will follow in Griffin Memorial Gardens. Pastor Janet Curtis Ware is the Pastor of Mt. Nebo, and Monte Curtis is the Eulogist.
