Viveth Wallace Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Carmon Windsor Funeral Home on Jan. 30, 2026.
Viveth Belvet Wallace age 71, of Bloomfield, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026. She was born on February 15, 1954, in Trelawny, Jamaica, to Aubrey and Clover 'Miss Tooksie' Wallace. Viveth was a woman of many talents and adventures.

Her life was as vibrant as the island where she was born. She earned her Associate degree from Capital Community College and her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Connecticut, leading her towards a fulfilling career path. Viveth worked initially as a Certified Nurse Assistant, pouring her compassion into every patient she cared for. Later, she transitioned into academia, sharing her knowledge, experience, and wisdom as an Adjunct Professor at Capital Community College. Her dedication to education and service exemplified her profound resilience and tenacity.

Viveth found deep joy and purpose in her faith. She was a devoted and faithful member of the Faith Seventh-day Adventist Church, where she served with dedication and pride. Her many roles included Assistant Sabbath School Superintendent, Head of Hospitality, and Women's Ministry departments. During her tenure as the Head of Women's Ministry, she inspired women of all ages to learn valuable skills, and express their creativity through the formation of a Craft Ministry. Viveth was also ordained as a Deaconess in 2022. This was a sacred and significant milestone that brought her great joy and deep fulfillment. Two years ago, Vivieth was appointed to the position of Head Usher. She accepted the role and in a relatively short time, made a profound and lasting impact on the Faith SDA church's ushering ministry. Her unwavering faith and acts of service were an inspiration to all who knew her, and served under her leadership.

An avid traveler, Viveth had a zest for discovery and exploration. She believed in the enriching power of travel and often encouraged others to "travel and see the world". Ghana, Italy, France, Germany, Jerusalem and many Caribbean islands are just a few of her many destina-tions. Viveth was also an avid animal lover, reflected in her unwavering love for "Baxter:" her faithful dog of over ten years, who shared many of life's journeys with her.

Known for her kindness, generosity, adventurous spirit, and selflessness, Viveth's acts of service touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting impact on her family, community, and all who were fortunate enough to know her. Viveth was predeceased by her parents, Aubrey and Clover Wallace; sister, Diane 'Merl' Wallace; and brothers, Leon 'Lee' Thorpe, Keith Thorpe, and Cecil 'Prime' Thorpe.

She is survived by her sons, Orthnel 'Frantz' Johnson and Tamyko 'Tammy' Ellis; siblings, Devere 'Q' Thorpe, Orleth 'Charmaine' Wallace, Audrey Wallace, Ithamar 'Jimmy' Wallace, and Wayne 'Doctor' Wallace; as well as a cherished uncle, Leslie Gayle, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and a myriad of friends.

Viveth's life was a living testimony of faith in action, and while we mourn her passing, we rejoice in the blessed hope of Christ's return, when she will rise again to live eternally with her Lord.

Her family will receive friends on Monday, February 2, 2026 from 9:30-11:00 am, with the Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 am at Faith Seventh Day Adventist Church, 500 Woodland Street, Hartford, Connecticut. Burial to follow at Mountain View Cemetery, Bloomfield, Connecticut
