Dick Lockman passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at the Platte County Hospital in Wheatland with his wife by his side.
Dick was born on Sunday, January 24, 1943 in Wheatland the son of Walter D. and Mollie (Eichler) Lockman.
Dick was reared and educated in Wheatland and graduated high school from Wheatland High School in 1961. Dick married Roberta "Bobbie" Hayden on June 17, 1964. He served in the United States Army starting in 1964 and was stationed in Tacoma, Washington. Their first child was born in Tacoma, Cheryl Lockman. The family moved to Thornton, Colorado after Dick was honorably discharged. He started working for Amoco pipeline. Their second child was born, Rick Lockman in 1967. Dick retired from Amoco and went to work for the State of Colorado as an oil inspector. Dick and Bobbie moved to Wheatland in 2005 to enjoy the remainder of his retirement. Dick worked at the golf course and at the fairgrounds before retiring full time.
He is survived by his wife, Roberta "Bobbie" Lockman; daughter, Cheryl (Mike Canzona) Lockman; son, Rick (Dawn) Lockman; sister, Sally; four grandchildren, Joey Canzona, Amanda (Destiny) Canzona, Ricky Lockman, and Ashleigh Lockman (Larry Alarid); and two great grandchildren, Brooks and Charlie Alarid.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter D. Lockman on October 26, 1973; mother, Mollie Lockman on August 15, 1947; stepmother, Mary Lockman-Higdom on November 11, 2014; and brother, John Lockman on November 8, 2021
A memorial to the Platte County Hospital/ Platte County Legacy Home Foundation, P.O. Box 1031, Wheatland, Wyoming 82201 would be appreciated by the family.
Gorman Funeral Homes - Platte Chapel will be in charge of the arrangements.
