Walter J. Lykosh

Walter J. Lykosh, 70, of Bayville, NJ, passed away suddenly at home on Wednesday, January 19, 2022. Born in Poland, Walter moved to the United States at the age of 8. He graduated from Perth Amboy High School and received his Bachelor's Degree at Kean College. Walter worked as a Stationary Engineer for Merck in Rahway, NJ for 38 years. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church in Perth Amboy where he was a dedicated groundskeeper for decades. In his free time, Walter loved to travel to Atlantic City where he enjoyed playing poker. He loved fishing and crabbing but most importantly sharing bear hugs and playing with his grandson, Michael.
He is predeceased by his wife of 32 years, Linda Lehman Lykosh, and his parents, Michael and Frances Lykosh.
Walter is survived by his daughter, Stefanie Lykosh of Bayville; son, Brian Lykosh of Bayville; brother, Joseph Lykosh of Florida; sisters, Luba Bonczek and her husband Raymond of Beachwood, Christine Palmer of Iselin, Sophie Czerepka and her husband Anthony of Florida, and Stasia LaRosa of Matawan; sister-in-law, Bernie Duggan and her husband John of Spring Lake; grandson, Michael Lopes, and companion, Judith Puntorno.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 27th from 4-8 pm, at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave., Toms River. A second visitation will be held on Friday, January 28th at 9 am at St. John the Baptist Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church, 145 Broad Street, Perth Amboy, with the funeral Liturgy at 10 am. Burial will follow at St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
Masks must be worn during all visitation times.
