Wendy Lee Harrison, 57, of Toledo, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 23, 2025, after a year long battle with bile duct cancer. Born May 29, 1969, in Toledo, Ohio, she was the daughter of Dr. James and Eunice (Cunningham) Harrison. Wendy was a 1986 graduate from Bedford High School. She was employed by Bedford Public Schools in Food service for the past 5 years. Prior, she worked for The Toledo Zoo, and Lowes. She was an avid animal lover, who would go out of her way to protect and care for animals. Her love for animals came from her upbringing of being a veterinarian's daughter. Her many pets included dogs, cats, raccoons, horses, peacocks, and goats. Wendy's favorite pastimes included spending time with her friends, shopping, getting a good ice cream sundae, walking along the shoreline and soaking up the sun whether on the beach or lounging in the pool on her favorite raft. She loved to travel and enjoyed many family vacations. She fulfilled a long time wish to go to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico in May with her family. She was a member of Five Lakes Church in Sylvania, Ohio, where she made several great friends. She will be sorely missed by all, but are comforted by that she is in the arms of Jesus.
Wendy is survived by her brother, Kevin (Kathy) Harrison; niece, Kaylah (Brandon) Benore; nephew, Benjamin Metcalf, and brother-in-law, Ken Dobiesz. She is preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Stacy Dobiesz.
Visitation will be from 4-8 pm, Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, Michigan. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Five Lake Church, 4255 Mitchaw Rd, Sylvania, OH 43560, where she will lie in state after 10:00 am. Interment will be private at Bedford Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the church or Humane Society of Toledo. www.pawlakfuneralhome.com
