Marilyn Lewandowski

Marilyn L. Lewandowski, 80, of Temperance, Michigan, passed away, Tuesday, July 29, 2025. Marilyn was born on May 24, 1945, in Detroit, Michigan, and was the daughter of Louis and Genevieve (Seromik) Sulewski. She was a 1963 graduate of Bedford High School, she then received her Bachelor's degree in 1967 from the former Mary Manse College in Toledo, Ohio, and her Masters degree from Eastern Michigan University. She married Thomas Lewandowski on July 11, 1980. Marilyn was employed as a teacher for the Bedford Public Schools for 42 years, retiring in 2008. She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, the NEA, MEA, and the BEA. Marilyn enjoyed shopping, chocolate sundaes, but most of all, spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Tom; daughters, Karen (Ryan) Thompson, and Kristen (Nick) Emptage; brother, Richard (Maria) Sulewski; sisters, Joan Wayton, Pamela (Kenneth) Wayton, and Janice (Brian) Masters; grandchildren, Johnathan, Matthew, Oliver, Theodore, Henry, Sophia, and Olivia. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Kevin Sulewski.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am, Friday, August 1, 2025, at Corpus Christi University Parish, 2955 Dorr Street, Toledo, Ohio 43607, where she will lie in state after 9:30 am. There will be no visitation. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the church. www.pawakfuneralhome.com
