Wilbur Monroe Dennison

Wilbur Dennison, 75 year old Oklahoma City resident, passed away Friday, October 3, 2025 in Oklahoma City. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, October 8, 2025 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel in Woodward, Oklahoma. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
W.M. Dennison was born May 25, 1950, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Bert and Aileen (Paddick) Dennison. The family moved to Woodward in 1957. He graduated with the Woodward class of 1968. He went to Northwestern Oklahoma State University and graduated with a degree in Education.
In 1975 he married Mary J. Witt, and soon were joined by daughters Sarah and Sherry.
He started his career working for Dowell, Div of Dow Chemical. In 1973 the family moved to Edmond, Ok, where he spent the next years working for Magic Circle Energy as a production supervisor. Later as a consultant for several different oil and gas companies. He made many lifelong friends that continue to this day. He found pleasure in the profession he choose.
He had a love of history, reading, hunting, fishing, and scuba diving. Scuba diving took him to Cozumel, Mexico for ocean diving, but he really enjoyed diving at Lake Tenkiller in OK, where he spearfished or just explored different underwater areas of the lake.
Hunting had him going to many different states with his brother Stan, brother-in-law John Nelson and friends. He and John were avid duck hunters and together took trips to North Dakota and Canada. This led to a farm with ponds that together they and their hunting dogs got to enjoy for many more years. He introduced his daughters to fishing and his friend Joey Rushing to hunting. Later Joey and he introduced younger people to outdoor hunting and fishing activities. He enjoyed being outdoors and planning new projects for the farm.
After retiring he continued his pursuit of history/reading while traveling with his wife Mary to many states, national parks and museums.
He is now with his daughter Sarah Dennison, parents Bert and Aileen Dennison, brothers Bert and Jeff Dennison and sister Janet Mann, and several nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his wife Mary, daughter Sherry, sister Joyce Nelson, and brother Stan Dennison, and many nieces and nephews.
