William Donnell "Heavy D" Clinkscales, of Burlington, North Carolina, passed away on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at the age of 59.
Affectionately known as "Heavy D," William was a beloved father, grandfather, nephew, brother, "Uncle D," and cousin. He was born on July 16, 1965, to the late Kye Clinkscales Jr. and Brenda Ferguson Clinkscales.
A proud 1983 graduate of Hugh M. Cummings High School, Donnell was known for his warm heart and generous spirit. He found joy in life's simple pleasures-fishing, cooking, couponing, and caring for his nieces and grandson brought him deep fulfillment.
He is survived by his devoted partner, Rashanda Oliver; his son, Christopher Moore; and his cherished grandson, Christopher Moore Jr. He also leaves behind his former spouse and dear friend, Bobbie Clinkscales; his sisters, Glenda Dennis (Howard) and Shelia Clinkscales (Dawnto); nieces, Jessica Ejike (Ifeanyi), Kendra Edwards, and Aaliyah Springfield; great-nephews Khyree Lee Jr. and Amari Ejike; and his goddaughter, Dea'Nita Graves. He will also be fondly remembered by a host of aunts, cousins, and friends whose lives he touched deeply.
William was loved by many and will be missed beyond measure. His kindness and love will remain with us forever.
