William D. Fisher

BOSTON——William D. Fisher, 58, of Boston, formerly of Easton, died Monday, October 2, 2017 at Massachusetts General Hospital after a period of failing health. Born in Pawtucket, RI., a son of Jean P. (Makris) Fisher of Easton and the late Delmar A. "Sammy" Fisher Jr. he was raised in Easton and was a 1977 graduate of Oliver Ames High School. He continued his education at Northeastern University in Boston earning a bachelors degree in political science. William was employed as a communications director for US Department of Labor Office of Workers Compensation, Government Center, in Boston. He retired in 2016. William was a world traveler who enjoyed singing at Club Cafe in Boston. He was an avid trivia player who would often discuss politics and appreciated fine dining and dancing. He was devoted to his family and friends. In addition to his mother he is survived by his siblings, Deborah St. John and her husband Daniel of Easton, Penelope Brennan and her husband Stephen of Canton, Carol Maxon and her husband Charles of Norwood, Virginia Traudt and her husband Richard of FL., Sharon Washwell of Bridgewater, Wayne Fisher and his wife Elizabeth of Holbrook, Daniel Fisher and his wife Jane of Oklahoma and Darlene Fisher of Norwood; also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was also the uncle of the late Nicole St. John and brother-in-law of the late John Washwell. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral on Friday at 9:00 a.m. from Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services 605 Washington Street (Rte.138) Easton, followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, Easton.
