He graduated from Haven High School with the class of 1955 and later attended Wichita State University.
Pat was in the Air Force Reserve.
Pat was a near lifetime Haven resident and farmed many years in Reno County. When he retired, Pat moved to Wichita.
Pat was a member of the Haven United Methodist Church.
He traveled extensively and for recreation enjoyed card games and billiards and was quite accomplished in both. Above all, he loved spending time with his family. He was always open and enjoyed good conversation about family, travels, farming, weather, the stock market, world affairs and sports. It was a family bit of humor to talk about him being a human GPS. If asked a direction or location about anyplace he was familiar with he could give very complete and exact directions about how to navigate to the desired location.
Pat is survived by his brother, Joe (Betty) Haines of San Francisco, CA; three nieces, Mary Neale (Alan Kiviat) of Los Angeles, CA, Jennifer (Michael) Robinson of San Francisco, CA, and Sarah (Christopher) Muscolina of San Francisco, CA; and nephew, Stephen Haines of San Francisco, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Chester Haines.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Laurel Cemetery, Haven. Memorial services will follow at 11 a.m., at Haven United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Haven United Methodist Church or Haven Senior Center in care of Ott Funeral Home, PO Box 217, Haven, KS 67543.
