William "Buddy" Franklin Scott, 84, of Peachtree City, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on August 16, 2025. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia in December of 1940 to Alton Harold and Isabella Scott. Buddy graduated from Brown High School in Atlanta where he was a three sport athlete. He then went on to earn a business degree from the University of Georgia and letter in baseball. Following his college graduation, Buddy worked hard to build the family business, Rose Sandwich Company, alongside his parents and two brothers. After the business was sold, he operated a small vending company, S & J Vending, for many years before retiring and working at Canongate I Golf Club. Buddy was an avid sports fan and exercise enthusiast who always strived to maintain a high level of fitness by running in many Peachtree Road Races and working out with strength and conditioning exercises. He loved playing golf and was a charter member of Canongate I Golf Club. He was passionate about The Masters, Atlanta sports teams, and, of course, UGA sports. He was a longtime member of Southwest Christian Church in Newnan, Georgia. Buddy is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Judy; his children, Eddie Scott, Janet Oglesby (John), Brad Scott (Lori Anne); his grandchildren, Abby Scott, Kalin Matherly (Joe), Mary Scott, Jake Oglesby, Avery Lee (Dylan), Braden Scott; his great grandchildren, Tate Matherly, Scottie Jo Matherly, Sydnie Jae Matherly; several nieces and nephews. Buddy was preceded in death by his parents, Alton Harold and Isabella Scott; his two brothers, Alton "Bip" Harold Scott, Terry Scott; his grandson, Luke Scott. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Southwest Christian Hospice, 7225 Lester Road, Union City, GA 30291 or to Southwest Christian Church, 3836 US -29, Newnan, GA 30265.
