Bill graduated from the University of Kentucky with a bachelor's degree, setting the foundation for a successful career as a respected Insurance Underwriter. He was preceded in death his beloved grandparents, Lawrence Stanczak Sr and Mary Stanczak, John and Mary Sullivan.
An ardent horse racing aficionado, Bill found joy and companionship among fellow members at the Thoroughbred Club. His faith was important to him, he attended Saint Paul's Catholic Church.
Those who had the pleasure of knowing Bill recall a man whose very essence was loving, kind, and friendly-traits that made him not only a wonderful father but a best friend to many. Bill's legacy is one of steadfast commitment to the people and passions that enriched his well-lived life.

As Friday draws closer the reality of Bill being gone is hard to imagine. Never again will he come in with his Panera breakfast and sit down and tell me a story. I've been lucky enough to work with Bill at Catlin/AXA/XL and again at Berkley. His huge personality and sense of humor will be greatly missed as well as his knowledge. I'd rely on him daily for things I didn't take the time to learn over the years. I'm not sure I've met many with a heart as big as his. His love and support of all those he cared about inspired me every day. From hopping in the car to go see his parents like they lived next door, to running Harper around to school and dance. I loved hearing him talk about taking his dad to the races, it was truly a special time for him. On big race days I would try to hide from Bill and not make eye contact, because I didn't have time to go through the days entries, who was riding who and running where. God he loved horse racing! My heart goes out to his family. I know we will all miss him greatly and I'll be placing a bet for him tomorrow!

I first met Bill when he was just starting out in Equine insurance. He had joined an equine insurance agency and was so excited to have the job starting work in the equine insurance industry and to become an insurance agent. Several years later he came to work for me at Catlin Insurance because he wanted to become an underwriter. We didn“t have an underwriting position open at the time but he wanted to be there so much and learn all things equine insurance related, he took a more admin/assistant to underwriters position to get his foot in the door. He did get to move into underwriting at Catlin. Years later we were able to work together again at Berkley Equine & Cattle where he joined us as a Senior Underwriter. He brought his infectious laugh, stories, equine knowledge and his kindness and desire to help everyone.

Bill was also a great father and loved sharing pictures of Harper and stories about her dancing.

Some of my best memories of Bill are when we would go to Keeneland racing. He had so much knowledge about racing and could talk for hours about past races from previous years. We also had Halloween costume parties and "ugly Christmas sweater" competitions at work. Bill always participated and had such a great time.

His passion and enthusiasm for the equine industry and all things related to racing was unparalleled. I doubt I will ever know another person with that kind of dedication and excitement for our business. Bill, you will be missed!

Bill and I met thorough work at Great American, he was hired in as an underwriter and I was training him. We spent a lot of time together and became good friends. We enjoyed are time laughing and working. He was a quick study and a fun person to be around. We stayed in touch even after he moved on to another company. I will miss him dearly.

I first met Bill because he was my wife's coworker and he was willing to step out of the office to help me. Although we were not coworkers, he was very welcoming for every office social event. He was also the life of the party and I enjoyed our discussions ranging from stock market projections to conspiracy theories. Bill was kind, giving, and charismatic and will be deeply missed.

Bill always had a smile on his face. On occasion, he would buy donuts for the office and he always made sure there was a maple donut in the box since he knew it was my favorite. He was such a thoughtful man. My deepest condolences to the Stanczak family.

I will always remember Bill for his smile and his eagerness to lend a helping hand. He was always willing to jump in and do whatever he could to lift a burden or to make a task easier. His loving heart showed through his warmth and true concern for others and his commitment to his responsibilities was a testimony to his strong sense of duty and belief that any job that he had, he needed to do the best that he could do in it. He was evident he loved his family and my heart goes out to all of you in the loss of this loving man. May you find peace in knowing that wherever he went while on this earth, he shared the joy and love that was in his heart and that is priceless and the greatest of all things. I sincerely pray that you be comforted and strengthened while you grieve the loss of your beloved.
