William (Bill) L Ward, age 95, passed away peacefully at his home on September 17, 2024 in Louisville, KY. He was a graduate of Flaget High School and University of Louisville. He was a Korean war veteran and a member of the American Legion Post #201. Bill was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Raphael Church and The Knights of Columbus. He retired from Gold Proof Grain Elevator after 38 years of service.
Bill was predeceased by his wife, Lee Dugan Ward; brother, John N Ward Sr; and sister-in-law, Marjorie Berry Ward. He is survived by his nephews, John N Ward, Jr (Anne) and Michael L. Ward (Debbie). He is also survived by his great nieces and nephews, Christopher Ward, Keith Ward (Kerri), David Ward (Michelle), Michele Carden (Jeff), Shannon Ward (Brandon Babbcock), and Steven Ward (Raphael), plus 9 great-great nieces and nephews. His Funeral Mass will be held at St. Raphael on Friday, September 27th at 10:00 am with burial at Cave Hill Cemetery to follow. Visitation will be 1 hour before the service begins.
