Wilma Dean Gable, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, transitioned peacefully from this life on January 3, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on November 24, 1944, in Harrisburg, Arkansas, to Ester Stevens and Daisy Pauline Stevens, Wilma devoted her life to her family and home in Longview, Texas, where she nurtured those around her with love and grace. Wilma was a High School graduate of McCormick High School in Truman, Arkansas. She also worked for Douglas Aircraft for a short period.
As a dedicated homemaker, Wilma created a warm and welcoming environment for her loved ones. She found joy in the simple moments of life, whether it was preparing a meal, or sharing stories with family and friends. Her spirit was one of compassion, and her laughter could light up a room.
Wilma is survived by her cherished son, David Gable, and daughter-in-law, Michele Gable, daughters Suzanne Arnold, and Sharon Upshaw. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Ashlyn Gable Lange, Olivia Gable, Krystal Gable-Osceola, Dillon Arnold, Josh Gable, Meagan Gable Still, Alexandria Logue, and brother Neil Stevens. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ester and Daisy Stevens, and sister Gene Stevens and brother Jerry Stevens.
In this time of remembrance, we invite family and friends to gather, share memories, and celebrate the profound impact Wilma had on all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but forever held in the hearts of her loved ones.
