We can blame Zach that I don´t speak Spanish- he had me constantly laughing and distracted during class. I always looked forward to Spanish when we could hangout! He also took me to my first dance. He was a year older than me, and I couldn´t believe someone so cool would want to take me. I was devastated to hear of his passing. He was such a bright light and will be greatly missed sending so much love to all the people who loved him!

I was never close with Zach, but I went to high school with him and knew him. I genuinely have never met another guy so kind and friendly. I felt like there was no need for me to try and "fit in" when he was around because he was so quick to make everyone feel so seen and valued. even though I haven´t seen him in years and I´m not even sure if he´d remember me, this news hurts my heart. Truly he was one of the best. I´m sorry for those close to him that are grieving and will pray for healing and comfort!

One year, there was a Scout retreat up in Heber. Zack, Luke and Cameron were competing in a basketball tournament against a lot of older boys. They were 11 years old at the time. Lukes cousin came up also, the current BYU center, and played with them. Zach was the speedy guard and the whole team did really well. We all went to a Mexican food restaurant and then went hot tubbing and swimming at the Schofield's condo (some friends in our ward). It was a fun night. Luke loved Zach and was pretty close to him for most of grade and middle school. Zach was always good for Luke and we were grateful for Zach to be able to hang out with him. We will miss Zach! We love the Burns family.

I loved watching Zach play with little Ammon and baby Declan.
