Charles Mayo Obituary
Charles Aubrey Mayo, Jr., 81, of Palo Alto California, died March 6, 2015. "Chuck or Sonny" to his family and friends, he was the son of Charles A. Mayo, Sr. and Lucille Mayo, husband of Shirley Mayo. He is survived by a blended family of nine children, Shirlyn Smith, Reginald Mayo, Michael Mayo, TaJuana (Mayo) King, Kathy (Smith) Sparks, Donna (Mayo) Cole, Anthony Mayo, Charlene (Mayo) Weiss, and Christal (Mayo) Kass. He is also survived by three brothers, Ricardo Mayo, Tyrone Mayo, and Billy Pride, 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley Mayo and a son, Ramon Mayo. His professional career included a 20-year service in the US Air Force, 20-years with AT&T, and 19-years with H&R Block. His hobbies included fishing, boating, watching football and golf, and researching his family genealogy. He will be greatly missed. Services will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2015, at 2:00 pm at the Palo Alto VA Medical Center Chapel located at 3801 Miranda Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304.

On behalf of the Charity Family and extended family and friends, we are really saddened by the loss of our beloved Chuck. He was a strong contributor to our scholarship fund and helped a whole lot with the genealogy of the family. On top of that, he was a great friend to all of us, especially to me and Gloria Harver. We chatted regularly via e-mail and we send hugs and lots of love. Chuck will be greatly missed! Please stay in touch with us!
