Finn Irvin Liland, 55, went to be with the Lord on November 9, 2016. Finn was born on March 5, 1961 in Seattle, Washington, to Olav and Kerstin Monica (Stenberg) Liland. He spent most of his childhood school years in Anchorage, Alaska. Every other year, he and the family would spend the entire summer in Sweden. During his 4 th grade year, while his father built their house in Anchorage, Finn attended school in Sweden for a full semester. He was fluent in Swedish. Later, in his college years, he attended the University of Washington, in Seattle, Washington. His professional years as a Human Resources Manager for the oil, gas and construction industry eventually brought him to Houston, Texas, where he met Kyna Kay Cowan, and later married in Corsicana, Texas on April 26, 1997. Even while living in Texas, he was an avid Washington Huskies fan with season tickets and traveled to Seattle for the football games. He enjoyed road trips and traveling the world; reading historical biographies and Scandinavian history, listening to National Public Radio (NPR) or better yet, learning about how new technology or gadgets operated. Finn could always hold his own and enlighten those around him when discussing a myriad of topics. Most of all, Finn adored his children - they were always the center focus of his life.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Kyna Kay Liland, of Kingwood, Texas, and four beautiful daughters, Kacy Lyn Cowan Burdette, of New York City, New York, and Kinsey Elyse Cowan Burdette, Grace Ellen Liland, and Paige Karen Liland, of Kingwood, Texas.
In addition, he is survived by his wonderful parents, Olav and Kerstin Liland, of Edmonds, Washington, and brother, Mark Olav Liland and family, wife Kim, and son, Chase Olav Liland, and daughter, Brooke Anna Liland, and brother, Steve Alan Liland and family, wife Janica, and sons, Adam Tobias Liland and Lucas Christer Liland all of Anchorage, Alaska.
