Jean Cramer Obituary

Jean Cramer, age 92, passed away on January 28, 2018. She was born on the 21st Day of July 1925 in Neshaminy, Bucks County, Pennsylvania to parents Valdimir and Eugenia Elnet zke . She was the beloved wife of the late John W. Cramer (June 26, 2015) for 69 years. Jean is survived by her godson, Brian W. Busico; niece, Caroline Lackey and her husband Reynold; also, great niece, Lisa Lackey; great nephew, Todd Lackey; and great-great nephew, Adam Prouse. Jean and John (Jack) Cramer began their married life together living in Little Ferry, NJ and purchased their first home in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ. John's career with Exxon led the Cramers to move to Fallston, Maryland and then in 1976 on to Kingwood, Texas where they enjoyed calling it their home for over 40 years. Jean was proud to serve her community as a Fire/EMS dispatcher as a member of the Kingwood Emergency Service. The Cramers as parishioners of the First Presbyterian Church of Kingwood were proud to support God's calling in being of service to others. As volunteers at the Kingwood Medical Center,with countless hours of service,in earlier days they enjoyed many years of partnering to operate the hospital's Gift Shop. Jean as a Charter member of the Auxiliary served as President in 1999-2000. She was the proud recipient of the Kingwood Medical Center First Humanitarian Award in 2002. Jean remained a volunteer well into her late 80's with the "Day Surgery" desk being her last post. As members of the Exxon Retiree Club of Lake Houston they enjoyed socializing and attending membership events. with friends, as members of the Kingwood Country Club, they enjoyed clubhouse events and trying their hand on the links as well as volunteering in support of golf tournaments. The Cramer's in their active years were also members of the "Circle Eighters" square danc ers. As a proud American, and wife of a World War II. Marine veteran, Jean joined the VFW Post 809 Ladies Auxiliary in Little Ferry, NJ on December 3, 1958. Jean faithfully supported Auxiliary ideals as she took on many organization positions to include serving as VFW Post 809President in 1960-61. She went on to be a District and Bergen County President. Jean continued to advance through State officer chairs to become State President of New Jersey Ladies Auxiliary in 1972-73. Her many years of service are well deserving of her Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Life Membership designation. Funeral services were held T hursday, February 1, 2018 at the Darst Funeral Home, Kingwood, TX. Interment with her husband John took place on Monday, February 5, 2018 at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
