John H. Lapointe

Sarasota, FL - July 30, 1954 - May 25, 2025

John H. Lapointe 70, was born in Greenfield, MA where he attended Greenfield High School and played on local sports teams. In 1970, he relocated to Sarasota, FL with his family. John graduated from Sarasota High School and studied History at the University of South Florida.

John spent the summers in Hampton Beach where he annually reunited with family in New England and cultivated many lasting memories.

John inherited his family's artistic gift and was self-employed as a skillful painter. His work can be spotted throughout the Sarasota area and New Hampshire Seacoast.

John enjoyed golfing, travel, attending sporting events, and time with his family. He was a health enthusiast and enjoyed weightlifting and running.

He is predeceased by his parents Norma M. (Greene) Lapointe and Harold P. Lapointe of Sarasota, FL, his sister Jane P. Kosterman of Deerfield, MA and brother William J. Lapointe of Sarasota, FL. He leaves behind his sister Susan J. Payne of Winter Springs, FL, 6 nieces and nephews, 9 great nieces and nephews and extended family.

A service will be held on Tuesday June 3, 2025, at 10:00 am located at St. Martha Catholic Church, 200 N. Orange Ave., Sarasota, FL.
