Here is a memorial I just wrote for Ann in our church Bulletin:
On March 1st, our parish lost a bright star when Ann Flemer, chair of the Parish Finance Council, entered into Eternal Life far too soon, at age 65.
Ann spent her professional career at the Metropolitan Transportation Commission where, as Deputy Executive Director of Operations and Policy, she was instrumental in implementing the Americans with Disabilities Act to make transit accessible to everyone.
As was attested in the eulogy delivered by one of her sisters at her packed funeral last Friday morning, Ann´s talents were not limited to finance. She and her husband, Paul, created a foundation that preserved baseball as a varsity sport at UC Berkeley. And for our last Parish Picnic in 2022, Ann designed and sewed 7 professional-quality tote bags for our drawing that she wittily named:
Madeleine in Paris ~ Mangia Bene! ~ Tea for Two ~ Tailgate Picnic ~ Crazy for Chocolate ~ Girl´s Home Spa ~ Child´s Activity Tote
May perpetual light shine upon Ann Fitzgerald Flemer.

As a staff member who worked with Ann for years I found her to be the perfect balance of professional, friendly, organized, approachable and just plain a great person! She touched my life and will be missed. My sympathies to her close friends and family. Robert Hoffman

Ann played a big role during my career with her at MTC. She always smiled and interacted with everyone! She deeply cared about your well being. I remember us sitting side by side during a 2nd grade basketball game at St. Augustine School where my son, Christian, played against her son Matt. This was just the beginning of her cheers for her son´s sports. She was a very proud mom, deservingly so. My deepest condolences to Paul, Matt, and Kevin. Your mom was truly one of a kind! May you Rest in Peace Ann

I will always remember how kind, funny and generous my Aunt Ann was. She helped make my first communion veil and helped me pick out my wedding veil. She always made everyone feel at ease and was an integral part of our large family. We will miss her greatly. May she find peace in Heaven with her parents and brother, Barry. We love you, Ann.
